President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau.

The head of state thanked Canada for its multifaceted assistance and principled support for the Victory Plan.

Ukraine is counting on Canada to continue its active advocacy of its first point – receiving an invitation to NATO. Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged Justin Trudeau to continue working with allies both during future multilateral formats and in direct negotiations.

The President also thanked for Canada’s public support for the permission to use long-range weapons for military purposes on the territory of Russia.

The leaders coordinated the steps ahead of the G20 meeting. It is important that Ukraine’s position on a just and lasting peace be heard on it.

They also discussed the continuation of defense cooperation, in particular agreed on the current needs of Ukrainian soldiers.
