Captain of the Netherlands national team Virgil van Dyck commented on the victory over the Hungarian national team (4:0) in the match of the 5th round of the League of Nations:
“When we played Hungary on the road, we often tried to go through the center, not always successfully. Today we used the flanks better. And, of course, to win by four goals and keep a clean sheet is wonderful.
There are always things we can improve. We lost the ball too often on the axis of the field, and our final defense was not always what it should have been, because some of us wandered out of our positions. But, in the end, we deserved to win.
We are still growing. We have phases in matches when we control the ball very well. But perhaps we could be more compact. But at the end of the day, it’s about the result, so when you win 4-0, you can’t complain.”
