Former President Viktor Yanukovych has received a new sentence. This time, the Ukrainian court identified 15 years of imprisonment for incitement for desertion and the organization of illegal crossing through the state border.

Together with Yanukovych, the former Deputy Head of the State Security Department of Ukraine – Head of the Presidential Security Service of Ukraine received the verdict. He must serve the term of 10 years in prison.
Prosecutors in the Podilsky District Court of Kyiv proved that on February 23, 2014, the expansion of Ukraine, in conspiracy with the former head of the Presidential Security Service and representatives of the Russian Federation, illegally crossed the State Border of Ukraine illegally and organized at least 20 people from a close environment.
The flight was carried out outside the checkpoint across the state border for air connection. They flew three Russian military screws under the control of the pilot of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation from the outskirts of the village of Urzuf of Mangush district of Donetsk region in the direction of the Russian Federation to the military airfield in Yeysk. After spending some time there, they flew into Anapa, and from there on a military transport aircraft provided by representatives of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, went to the military airfield “Guards” in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
In the future, the expansion made a decision for the assistance of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to finally leave Ukraine. While in the territory of the military unit of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation in the Cossack Bay area in Sevastopol, he praised the UDO of Ukraine, who provided his personal protection, before desertion and departure to Russia. The Russian military was exported from the Autonomous Republic of Crimea by the expatriate.
As a result, part of the State Security Service from Sevastopol from Sevastopol departed to the Russian Federation. They did not return to military service.
The route of movement of the fugitive presidential territory of Ukraine and Russia was formed, fully controlled and accompanied by staff of the Federal Security Service and the military of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation. He agreed directly with the President of Russia.
The case was considered under the procedure of special court proceedings in absentia (in the absence of accused), since persons are hiding from justice.
We will remind, this is the second sentence of Viktor Yanukovych. In January 2019, he was convicted of state treason and assistance to an aggressive war and appointed 13 years of imprisonment. Since Yanukovych is in Russia, it is impossible to attract him to serve his sentence.
On April 16, the panel of judges of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court began consideration on the merits of the former first Viceremier-Minister of Ukraine on the seizure and waste of budget funds in the amount of almost UAH 200 million.
At the meeting on February 12 this year, the NSDC imposed sanctions against Ukrainian oligarchs. All of them operated in the interests of the Russian Federation, and for each episode criminal cases investigated by law enforcement officers were open.
