Details: Vietnam resumed plans for the construction of nuclear power plants that were suspended almost ten years ago, as part of efforts to increase electricity production capacity for rapidly growing economy.
The country’s government has previously stated that it was expected to put into operation the first nuclear power plants with a total capacity of up to 6.4 GW between 2030 and 2035.
Earlier this year, the government stated that he would negotiate on nuclear energy projections with foreign partners, including Russia, Japan, South Korea, France and the United States.
The statement also noted that Vietnam and Russia have agreed to intensify cooperation in the oil and gas industry, including the supply of Russian oil and liquefied natural gas of Vietnam.
