VIDEO. The ex-sixth racket left the match in tears after winning the set

Former world number six and Wimbledon 2023 champion Market Vondroushova (Czech Republic, WTA 39) completed the WTA 500 hard tournament in Adelaide, Australia.

In the 1/8 finals, the Czech Republic took the court against “Neutralka” Diana Schneider. Marketa won the first set, but refused to continue the match after the second game of the second game.

Vondroushova called a physio and cried during the medical break. For Marketa, this was the first tournament since Wimbledon-2024. At the end of August, the Czech announced that she underwent surgery on her left shoulder and has since been recovering and preparing for her return to the Tour.

Schneider will play against Yulia Putintseva (Kazakhstan, WTA 25) in the quarterfinals.
