Fans noticed an unusual detail: Ronaldo spent the evening quietly and was not the center of attention – no one filmed him, did not shout and did not crowd around. One X user wrote that the Portuguese “looked like a normal person” and probably enjoyed it.

During the speech, Trump emphasized that his son Barron is a big fan of Ronaldo and joked that now his son “respects him more” for meeting the idol.
The visit coincided with reports of a possible US-Portugal friendly in Atlanta in March 2026. If the game goes ahead and Ronaldo takes the field, it will be his first game in the United States since 2014.
