Vance: Trump said that Putin should not have invaded Ukraine, but this does not contradict cooperation with the Russian Federation

In an interview with journalist Megyn Kelly, US Vice President J. D. Vance said that Washington does not rule out cooperation with Russia in some areas, because, in his opinion, this does not contradict the American position on the war in Ukraine.

Vance’s direct speech: “People say that it is impossible to cooperate with Putin on any issues, because you do not agree with the invasion of Ukraine. The president clearly said that Putin should not have invaded Ukraine. We will try to work and put an end to this, but there may be some areas of cooperation (Russia and the USA – ed.).”

Details: According to the official, the US may disagree with Russia on a number of issues, but this will not mean the impossibility of bilateral cooperation.

“His position (US President Donald Trump – ed.) is that we are for alliances. There may be a country with which we have 90% of common interests, but we will disagree on 10% of issues. We may disagree with Russia on many issues, but we may agree on some. And I really believe that this is a fundamental reorientation,” the American vice president added.
