On Thursday, October 17, the High Anti-Corruption Court lifted the arrest from the former private residence of fugitive president Viktor Yanukovych Mezhyhirya.
The human rights organization Transparency International Ukraine emphasized that the seizure was lifted from the Mezhihirya rest house, as well as from the land plot on which the complex is located.
At the same time, Yanukovych’s lawyers objected to the lifting of the arrest, as they believe that it is first necessary to wait for the final decision in the case.
The judge decided to cancel the arrest. Such a decision can be considered the last step before the final transfer of Yanukovych’s former residence to the state.
The Mezhyhirya residence was used by the fourth president, Viktor Yanukovych, before he fled the country in 2014.
