Today, November 28, the panel of judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HCAC) passed a verdict and found the People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the eighth convocation guilty. He is accused of illegally receiving almost UAH 914,000 in compensation for renting housing in Kyiv.

According to the Center for Combating Corruption, we are talking about Arkady Kornatskyi.

The court sentenced the ex-Deputy to three years and six months of imprisonment with an additional restriction of the right to hold positions related to the performance of organizational and managerial or administrative and economic functions for a period of three years. In addition, he was fined UAH 8,500.

Arkady Kornatskyi was a People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the eighth convocation. Until 2019, he was a member of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction and a member of the parliamentary committee on agrarian policy and land relations. In 2019, he ran for the post of President of Ukraine as a non-party candidate.

Earlier, the High Anti-Corruption Court recognized as unsubstantiated the assets associated with Taras Polienko, the deputy chief of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv, and decided to charge them to state income.
