On September 24, the Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court applied a preventive measure in the form of a personal commitment to the former Deputy Minister of Energy Maksym Nemchynov in the case of fraud with coal.

At the beginning of September, the High Anti-Corruption Court refused to grant the request of the SAP prosecutor to apply a preventive measure in the form of bail to Nemchynov. Then the court decided to partially satisfy the appeal of the prosecutor, and to cancel the decision of the investigating judge of the State Security Service of Ukraine from September 4.

In addition, Nemchynov was also tasked with arriving at the first request and refraining from communicating with other suspects and witnesses.

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau notified three persons of suspicion on July 26. They were accused of causing losses to the state enterprise in the amount of UAH 12 million during the sale of coal in July 2022.

Ex-Deputy of the People’s Republic of Ukraine Volodymyr Vecherko, whose company bought coal from the state-owned Ukrvugil for supply to cement plants, Mykhailo Voloshyn, then head of Ukrvugil, and Maksym Nemchynov, then adviser to the Minister of Energy, were suspected.

After that, NABU reported the suspicion to several more representatives of the state energy sector.

Recently, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office notified two more members of the organized group, which, according to the investigation, seized the funds of JSC “Kharkivoblenergo” during the purchase of energy equipment.

And in Kyiv, the director of the utility company “Zhytloinvestbud-UKB” will be tried, who caused 800,000 UAH of damage to the state during the overhaul of two damaged buildings.
