WBC, WBA, WBO and IBO world champion Oleksandr Usyk was arrested at the airport of the Polish city of Krakow.

This information was shared by the deputy of the VRU and former Ukrainian wrestler Zhan Beleniuk, who released the corresponding video. The circumstances and reasons for the detention of the Ukrainian champion are still unknown.

Sergey Lapinthe director of Usyk’s team reacted to this event and accused the Polish Customs Control Service of neglecting the duties of employees.

“Don’t worry, it’s okay. The customs control service is neglecting its duties,” Lapin wrote.

Usyk is scheduled for a rematch with Tyson Fury on December 21, 2024.
