Team director Oleksandr Usyk Serhiy Lapin said that the trilogy against the British heavyweight Tyson Fury will not take place.
“It is unlikely that this fight will take place. In theory, this is an interesting option, but for whom? If the boxing fans really support him, then maybe. However, in my opinion, this chapter is already closed,” Lapin said.
In 2024, Usyk defeated Tyson Fury twice – first by split decision, and then by unanimous decision.
Earlier, the head of Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Entertainment, Turki Al-Sheikh, announced the return of former world champion Tyson Fury and hinted at a trilogy against Oleksandr Usyk.
