WBC, WBA and IBF super heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk (24–0, 15 KO) announced that he is ready to fight against the popular American showman Jake Paul (12–1, 7 KO), but not in the ring, but under the rules of mixed martial arts.
– Are you ready to fight Jake Paul?
– Yes, but not in the ring, but in the octagon, Usyk said.
The Ukrainian boxer had his last fight on July 19 in London, when he knocked out the IBF world champion, the British Daniel Dubois in the fifth round. Usyk currently holds three titles, having previously relinquished the WBO belt due to his unwillingness to fight another Briton, Fabio Wordley.
Jake entered the ring in June – defeated Mexican Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. by unanimous decision. The American will hold his next fight on December 19 in Miami, where he will try to defeat former world champion Anthony Joshua.
