The expert noted that despite the perfect speeches in professional boxing, the Ukrainian has suffered a lot of defeats when he performed in amateurs:
“Usik brought together all the titles in the first heavyweight in July 2018, and then did the same in the Supervisory Division, having defeated Tyson Fury in a tense duel. These incredible achievements brought him first in the ranking of the best boxers, regardless of the weight category.
At present, his record is 23-0 and he could retire invincible, but earlier Usik had no less fruitful amateur career and there he failed to maintain a perfect reputation.
During his career, the Ukrainian won 335 battles and suffered 16 defeats. Most sites indicate its rating 335–15, although Usik recently admitted that he had lost his debut amateur battle in 2002, which was not taken into account in any database, ”Glinski summed up.
