Details: The US Navy has officially recognized a delay in the Columbia submarine construction schedule-the most modern development with the USS District of Columbia (SSBN-826) strategic ballistic missiles.

“We are now going to deliver this submarine about two years later-in March 2029,” said Vicecresser Navy, Admiral James Kilby at a meeting of the Senate Committee on Defense Appropriate.
The main causes of delay are production problems, lack of skilled workers and interruptions in the supply of components. The Navy now work together with the US Defense Ministry and the projects.
“I am optimistic, but the schedule for March 2029 is what we stopped for,” Kilby said.
Literally: Columbia submarines should be replaced by a fleet with outdated Ohio Submarine and become a new US nuclear triad, along with intercontinental ballistic missiles of Sentinel landing and B-21 bombers.
Details: According to the US government accountability, the total cost of the program has already exceeded the initial budget by 6% and is about $ 126 billion. The auditors also warned that the first two boats are already significantly exceeding the estimated cost.
