UNICEF expressed condolences over the death of three children and their mother in Kryvyi Rih, who were victims of a Russian attack.

This is stated in the statement of the head of the UNICEF Representation in Ukraine, Munira Mamedzade, published on the organization’s website, reports Ukrinform.

“In Kryvyi Rih, three more children and their mother did not wake up. Tragic stories like this one have become commonplace in Ukraine because shelling of populated areas continues. Every death or injury to a child leaves deep scars in the lives of families, friends and communities. Our deepest condolences to the family in Kryvyi Rih and to everyone who lost loved ones in this brutal war,” the statement said.

As noted, every night due to the threat of attacks, children in Ukraine go to bed with fear and uncertainty. “Often at night they are not in their beds, but hiding in corridors and bomb shelters to the sounds of air raids and explosions, hoping to wake up in the morning to find their homes intact and their families safe,” Mammadzadeh noted.

“No child should live in constant fear for their safety. Attacks on populated areas must stop, and children in Ukraine must be protected, no matter where they are – at home, at school or on the playground,” the head of the UNICEF Office emphasized.
