Direct speech: “It is absolutely clear that we cannot be part of a structure that questions the role of the UN and current international law. This would be absolutely impossible for us – and not only for us, but also for the vast majority, at least of European states, as well as many others – for whom the UN and international law are the backbone of their foreign policy.”

Prehistory:

  • Earlier, the media reported that the French president refused Trump’s invitation to join the Peace Council.
  • According to Trump’s plans, the Peace Council for the Gaza Strip should be created under the broader umbrella of the Peace Council, for the participation of which US President Donald Trump is going to demand a billion dollars from the states.
  • Trump invited a number of European states, Canada, as well as Russia and Belarus to join the Peace Council.
