“Some of these weapons are already manufactured in the Czech Republic, and for the other, we are negotiating the localization of production in Ukraine””, – WRITE: www.radiosvoboda.org

Ukraine increases defensive cooperation with the Czech Republic, the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov said on February 5.

According to him, he met with a delegation of the Intergovernmental Agency for Defense Cooperation (AMOS) of the Czech Ministry of Defense, accompanied by defense companies of the country.

“They discussed specific steps to accelerate the supply of support from the Czech Republic and expand our interaction,” Umerov said.

He added that the parties focused on key areas of cooperation:

  • production and supply of large caliber ammunition
  • Exchange of military technologies
  • The development of industrial cooperation between Ukraine and the Czech Republic

Umerov added that countries are launching common projects that will strengthen the Ukrainian military:

“One of them is the production of rifles within the Danish financing model. Some of these weapons are already manufactured in the Czech Republic, and for the other, we are talking about the localization of production in Ukraine. ”

The Danish Model provides for direct financing of Ukrainian defense enterprises in other countries. In January, Prime Minister Denis Shmigal reported that in 2025 Ukraine expects to raise more than $ 1 billion under this initiative.
