“Prolonging investigations, family deals, extortions, mockery of servicemen – this is unacceptable in the 3rd year of the war. Therefore, by my order, the Main Inspectorate of the Ministry of Defense will immediately start work, which will check the facts stated in the article of “Ukrainian Pravda” regarding the situation in the 211th pontoon-bridge brigade of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces,” Umerov said in a statement, quoted by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
According to him, the Ministry of Defense will also find out why the investigation by the Military Law and Order Service took so long.
“Society expects an explanation as to why the situation was not resolved earlier. My position as a minister is clear: all the guilty must be punished,” the minister added.
The General Staff also reported that, by the decision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi, a commission of the Military Law and Order Service of the Armed Forces was sent to the military unit to verify the information published in the media.
