During a meeting with the national security advisors of Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Finland and Great Britain, the Secretary of the National Security Council, Rustem Umyerov, spoke about the results of the negotiations in Geneva and Florida and discussed the issue of security guarantees for Ukraine.
Umerov announced this on Facebook.
“Today in Brussels, I had a productive, many-hour meeting with the national security advisors of Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Finland, and Great Britain. There were also representatives of the European Union and NATO. He informed colleagues in detail about the course of negotiations in Geneva and Florida and the subsequent diplomatic dynamics. It is important that Europe remains an active participant in this process – both in matters of bringing peace, and in shaping the future security architecture,” Umerov stressed.
According to him, the participants of the meeting separately focused on security guarantees. In particular, to work together to develop such a framework of security guarantees that will be real and effective – both for the long-term security of Ukraine and the whole of Europe.
In addition, the parties agreed to continue close consultations and synchronization of positions to achieve a just and sustainable peace in the interests of Ukraine.
The USA invited the Ukrainian delegation to continue negotiations.
Planned talks between the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and the American delegation led by the special envoy of the US President Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in Brussels didn’t happen.
