The Secretary of the National Security Council Rustem Umyerov and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Andriy Hnatov went to Florida for negotiations with the American delegation. The meetings will take place in a bilateral format and are devoted to the discussion of a possible “peace plan”. Ambassador of Ukraine to the USA Olga Stefanishyna confirmed that the embassy ensures the work of the Ukrainian delegation.
“Today and tomorrow, Rustem Umyerov and Andriy Hnatov will arrive in Florida to work with the American delegation. The embassy regularly ensures the work of delegations,” she wrote.
According to Stefanishyna, the agreement on the meetings was currently reached in a bilateral format, that is, without the participation of third parties. The Ukrainian side has not disclosed the details of the agenda yet, but it is expected that they will discuss potential steps for a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
Earlier, the media reported that a meeting of US and Russian representatives is planned in Florida at the end of the week as part of the initiatives of the Donald Trump administration to end the war in Ukraine.
Zelensky noted progress in peace negotiations with the United States.
