Ukrzaliznytsia is introducing new security restrictions due to increased enemy attacks on railway infrastructure and rolling stock.
This was reported by the company’s press service.
This includes the restriction of some connections, the replacement of direct long-distance flights with connecting ones, and a special traffic regime on certain sections, which may affect trains from Kharkiv Oblast, Sumy Oblast, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson Oblast.
“The enemy is intensifying attacks on the railway, in particular on rolling stock. By maintaining traffic despite all threats, Ukrzaliznytsia is responding to growing challenges in order to, as far as possible, reduce risks both for passengers and for railway workers themselves,” the UZ noted.
Operational solutions include:
-
Temporary restriction of a number of connections, in particular in the Kharkiv region; bus carriers organize connecting flights to destinations. Passengers will be informed separately.
-
Some direct long-distance flights are replaced by connecting trains with suburban trains; passengers will receive separate messages.
-
In some sections, especially in the frontline regions, a special traffic regime is introduced: unscheduled stops and train delays are possible.
Ukrzaliznytsia urges passengers to take into account possible delays and not to plan “close” transfers, allowing additional time for travel.
“Timeliness and speed are important, but nothing is more important than safety,” the company emphasized.
It will be recalled that JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” (UZ) honored the memory of the passengers who died as a result of the Russian attack by lowering the flags at all stations of Ukraine.
“Ukrzaliznytsia” officially clarified the controversial issue of using the space under the lower shelf and sitting on it.
