In the morning, Ukrenergo announced that as a result of the massive Russian missile and drone attack on the energy infrastructure, emergency shutdowns were implemented in most regions of Ukraine.
Later, from 4:00 p.m., hourly shutdown schedules were introduced.
The Russian army launched another massive attack on Ukraine during the night and morning of October 22. According to the Air Force, the Russian military used 405 drones and 28 missiles, 15 of which were ballistic.
According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, Russian strikes on the night of October 22 mainly targeted the energy sector, but there were also many hits to residential buildings, which caused fires in Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv. Kyiv, Odesa, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhya, Cherkasy and Sumy regions were affected. Emergency power outages have been introduced in most regions of Ukraine. It is known that six people died in Kyiv and the region.
