Almost a quarter of all illegal gas stations in Ukraine operate in Lviv region, 10% each – in Odesa and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
This is stated in the release of the Oil and Gas Association of Ukraine.
As of September 2024, the number of gas stations with signs of illegal activity in Ukraine increased again and reached 419 facilities.
Lviv Oblast leads the list with 98 illegal stations (23%), followed by Odesa (42 stations, 10%) and Ivano-Frankivsk (41 stations, 10%).
Despite the government’s efforts, illegal gas stations continue to operate, “undermining the economy, creating unfair competition for legal market participants and posing a threat to citizens and the surrounding infrastructure,” the association said in a statement.
