Direct speech: “Ukrainians have to make fundamental decisions about continuing hostilities or finding ways to negotiate and try to achieve a ceasefire. The fundamental question is whether Russia is ready to do that, and do it in good faith.”

Details: Blinken noted that the US is working to ensure that Ukraine is in a favorable position to conclude “the strongest agreement” in 2025. For this, according to him, it is necessary to strengthen the military positions of Ukraine, provide it with finances, ammunition and support.

Direct speech: “This means continuing to put maximum pressure on Russia… Everything Russia is trying to do takes longer, costs more and is more difficult to do. And of course the losses on the battlefield are colossal. Putin continues to abandon these young people (Russian servicemen – ed. .) into a meat grinder, which he himself created.”

Details: The State Secretary also noted that Ukraine’s long-term success depends on guarantees of a ceasefire on fair terms. He emphasized that these guarantees should exclude the possibility of a new attack by Russia in the future.

“If we get it, Ukraine is on the way to success,” Blinken stressed.

According to Blinken, Ukraine has already proven its strength as an independent state that could not be erased from the world map, despite all the efforts of Russia.

Direct speech: “That’s what Putin wanted to do. He failed. It can stand firmly on its own feet militarily, economically, democratically. It’s the best possible rebuke to Putin. And I know President Trump will want to make a good deal in the future.”
