“29% of Ukrainians believe that the war will end in 2027. Only 10% hope to be completed by 2026.”, — write: www.pravda.com.ua
Source: survey of the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS), conducted from November 26 to December 29, 2025
Details: It is noted that only 10% of Ukrainians expect the war to end by the beginning of 2026 (18% in September) and only 16% expect it to end at least in the first half of 2026 (15% in September).

In your opinion, when can the war end?
That is, only a quarter of Ukrainians expect completion in the relatively near future.
Instead, 12% talk about the second half of 2026.
In your opinion, when can the war end?
At the same time, the majority of Ukrainians, or 62%, continue to answer that they are ready to endure the war as long as necessary. Another 3% answered that they are ready to endure for about a year.
A shorter period (six months or a few months) is mentioned by 14% of respondents (in September it was 21%, but at the same time, from 13% to 21%, there were more people who could not answer the question).
For reference: The KMIS survey itself was conducted on November 26-December 29, 2025 by the method of telephone interviews based on a random sample of mobile phone numbers in all regions of Ukraine (territory under the control of the government of Ukraine). A total of 1,001 respondents aged 18 and over were interviewed.
The sample did not include residents of territories that are temporarily not controlled by the authorities of Ukraine (at the same time, part of the respondents are IDPs who moved from the occupied territories), and the survey was not conducted with citizens who went abroad after February 24, 2022.
Formally, under normal circumstances, the statistical error of such a sample (with a probability of 0.95 and taking into account the design effect of 1.3) did not exceed 4.1% for indicators close to 50%, 3.5% for indicators close to 25%, 2.5% – for indicators close to 10%, 1.8% – for indicators close to 5%.
Under conditions of war, in addition to the specified formal error, a certain systematic deviation is added. Factors that can affect the quality of results in “wartime” conditions were previously cited by KMIS.
