According to a new study, trust in the United States has declined sharply after the scandalous meeting of Ukrainian and US presidents in Washington. Instead, European countries occupy high positions.
The sociologist and founder of Gradus Research Yevgeny Bliznyuk told this.
According to her, since the beginning of a full -scale invasion of the United States have been perceived by most Ukrainians as one of the key partners in the war against Russia, along with the United Kingdom. American assistance, sanctions and support in various forms have been recognized by respondents as important factors.
However, a recent study conducted after the meeting of the Presidents of Ukraine and the United States in Washington showed a sharp decrease in the level of trust in Washington. According to the survey, 70% of Ukrainians surveyed have recognized that their attitude to the United States had deteriorated.
As of today, the United States no longer occupies a place among the main partners of Ukraine, declining to the second half of the list of friendly countries, having got to China and India.
At the same time, the United States is perceived as one of the most unfriendly countries, leaving only Russia only.
It should be reminded that in February at the beginning of March 2025, half of the Ukrainians (50%) believed that in no circumstances, Ukraine should not abandon the territories, even if the war lasts longer.
According to the results of a study conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) from February 14 to March 4, 2025, 87% of Ukrainians believe that Russia does not intend to stay in the occupied territories and seeks to destroy Ukraine.
Earlier, KIIS reported that in December 2024, President Vladimir Zelensky was trusted by 52% of Ukrainians, 39% were not trusted. The remaining 9% replied that they could not decide on their attitude.
