Literally sociologists: “Both in February 2023 and in January 2026, 90% believe that Ukraine should strike on the territory of Russia. At the same time, from 38% to 10%, those who speak of strikes only on military facilities have decreased.”

Details: Currently, 80% of respondents are convinced that, in addition to military facilities, Ukraine should strike at other facilities as well (an increase from 52% compared to February 2023).
In particular, 7% believe that it is necessary to attack the military and oil and gas infrastructure, 48% add to this also the energy sector of Russia.
“And 25% generally believe that Ukraine should strike at the population of Russia as well (an increase from 13% in February 2023),” the KMIS report says.
Why is this important?: Defense forces of Ukraine strike Russian military factories, weapons and ammunition depots, airfields from which Russian bombers take off, and oil refineries that supply the Russian army with fuel and lubricants.
The study lasted from January 23 to 29. 1003 respondents over the age of 18, who at the time of the study lived in the territory of Ukraine, which was controlled by the government of Ukraine, were interviewed by the method of telephone interviews based on a random sample of mobile numbers. The sample did not include residents of territories that are temporarily not controlled by the authorities of Ukraine (at the same time, part of the respondents are IDPs who moved from the occupied territories), and the survey was not conducted among citizens who went abroad after February 24, 2022.
Formally, under normal circumstances, the statistical error of such a sample (with a probability of 0.95 and taking into account the design effect of 1.3) did not exceed 4.1%. Under the conditions of war, in addition to the specified formal error, a certain systematic deviation is added, but sociologists believe that the obtained results still retain high representativeness and allow a fairly reliable analysis of the public mood of the population.
