In Ukraine, a monthly allowance of almost one thousand hryvnias has been introduced for pensioners over the age of 80 who need constant care.
This is reported by the law “On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Regarding Increasing Social Guarantees for Certain Categories of Citizens”.
Those who do not have able-bodied relatives who are obliged to support them can receive such a supplement. The law defines clear criteria for registration of this social assistance.
This initiative provides support for elderly people who are left without family and need help in everyday life.
The allowance is assigned only to those pensioners who receive an old-age pension, not a disability pension, and have a confirmation of the need for care from the medical advisory board (MDB).
In order to issue an additional payment in 2025, it is necessary to apply to a medical institution for the opinion of the LKK. Then collect a package of documents — a passport, an identification code, a certificate of the absence of other social benefits — and submit an application to the Pension Fund.
We remind you that as of October 1, 2025, the average pension in Ukraine is UAH 6,436.79, compared to UAH 6,410.17 as of July 1.
Also, pensioners after the age of 65 will receive benefits and allowances.
