“Ukrainian manufacturers have made a drone with the tactical and technical characteristics of the Chinese Mavic. In the video, you can see the first demonstration flights of these products,” Smetanin said.
According to him, over the weekend, 8 manufacturers of such drones were gathered, at various stages of readiness, and two of them have already been codified. “6 teams performed flight missions: a 10-km flight at an altitude of more than 250 m and a target search. It was a demonstration for the General Staff, the Command of the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Command of the Logistics Forces, government procurers and military units,” the minister said.
As Smetanin noted, the military assessed the quality of the products, and also talked with the manufacturers directly about the characteristics, features and production capabilities.
“First of all, I thank the Ukrainian teams of manufacturers who were able to create such a product in Ukraine. It is inexpensive, functional, easy to manage. And most importantly, it is created inside the country, which, firstly, makes us more independent from foreign supplies, and secondly, leaves money in the country.
