He stated this during a speech in the Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday, November 19.

“Despite all the difficulties of the war, the Ukrainian economy maintains basic stability. And it needs a new economic policy of our state. A policy that will be based on several key things,” the president said.

According to him, the first point will be the maximum support of Ukrainian entrepreneurship, localization and production in Ukraine, it is necessary to expand the access of Ukrainian manufacturers to the public procurement market.

“Everything that can be produced in Ukraine must be produced in Ukraine. With all due respect to partners, it is necessary to purchase primarily from a Ukrainian manufacturer,” Zelenskyi said.

The President emphasized the importance of implementing effective military risk insurance, consistent regulation of the protection of entrepreneurship freedom, and a gradual reduction in the share of GDP redistribution by the state.

Also, an important principle will be the safety of doing business and reducing the pressure on business from all state institutions that control the activities of others, rather than creating added value themselves.

The third point is honesty in relations between the state and business. The President emphasized the importance of detinization of the economy and legal employment. According to him, this should be achieved not by forceful measures, but by creating appropriate incentives and building trust between business and the state.

Zelenskyi emphasized that this kind of economic policy can lead Ukraine to sustainable economic growth, a sufficient level of provision of Ukraine’s defense needs and the preservation of human capital thanks to the fact that Ukrainians will be able to realize themselves and their aspirations in Ukraine.

“It simply won’t happen without a strong economy. And there won’t be a strong economy without respect for entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs. Therefore, in fact, it’s not just about decisions about the economy. It’s about decisions about the future,” the president added.
