This was stated by the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhii Tykhi, during a round table, writes “Ukrinform”.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that Ukraine considers the American peace proposals only as a basis for further work, in which a significant role is assigned to Europe.
Heorhiy Tykhy emphasized that the key position of Ukraine is not to break the unity between Europe and the United States. He warned that if it is possible to divide the allies, the only beneficiary will be the Russian Federation. “Everyone should be aware of this. It is impossible to forget some fundamental key things in this work,” said the representative of the diplomatic agency.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs positively assessed the decision to move the collective issues of the EU and NATO out of the main discussion. “Already, in principle, there is an understanding that what concerns the EU and NATO collectively will be put into a separate track. This is very important, we welcome it,” Tykhiy said.
Also, Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz stated that Ukraine cannot be forced to voluntarily give up its own territories and reduce its capabilities countering aggression .
We will remind, French President Emmanuel Macron stated that the US “peace plan” for Ukraine needs to be finalized and coordinated with European partners.
