It is noted that today the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko and Japan Ambassador to Ukraine Massaha Nakagome signed an agreement in the form of exchange of notes. It provides Ukraine with a loan of up to 471.9 billion Japanese (about $ 3 billion).

“The funds are part of the ERA for Ukraine mechanism G7 with a total volume of about $ 50 billion. The loan will be serviced and repaid at the expense of future profits derived from immobilized Russian sovereign assets,” the statement said.

Financing is provided for 30 years. The raised funds will be aimed at supporting priority budgetary needs and promoting the reconstruction and development of Ukraine.

Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko noted that in the last three years, Japan has already provided budget support to Ukraine worth more than $ 8.5 billion. These funds have become critically significant to support the country’s economic and financial stability.

International assistance to UkraineOn April 9, Ukraine received from the EU a third tranche of 1 billion euros within the G7 ERA initiative, provided with income from frozen Russian assets.

On the same day, it became known to provide the European Investment Bank with € 300 million to Ukraine for the restoration of energy and critical infrastructure. The funds will be directed, in particular, to investments in district heating, improvement of energy efficiency, restoration of water, heat supply and sewerage.
