Details: As mentioned, the use of revenues from frozen rockets for the purchase of Italian anti-aircraft systems was discussed at the meeting of Deputy Minister of Defense Anatoly Klochka with the delegation of the Defense Industry Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Italy.

“We are interested, among other things, in ammunition of various calibers and anti-aircraft defense systems. However, it is worth understanding the cost and terms during which they can be delivered to the Defense Forces of Ukraine,” said Klochko.

In addition, Klochko, representatives of the Ministry of Strategy and Industry and the General Staff got acquainted with the products of Italian defense companies.

The representative of the Defense Industry Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Italy, Marcello Mele, presented the key areas of the agency’s work and introduced the mechanisms of potential cooperation.

The parties agreed to continue work to implement the idea of creating joint industrial projects.

It will be recalled that in 2024, the G7 agreed to jointly provide Ukraine with a loan of $50 billion at the expense of Russian assets: the funds will be provided formally as a loan, but will be repaid with income from frozen Russian assets.

At the end of December, Ukraine received the first tranche of the planned $20 billion American contribution from the United States.

In January, Ukraine received the first tranche in the amount of 3 billion euros from the sum allocated by the European Union for the joint loan of the Group of Seven, for the repayment of which the frozen assets of the Russian Federation will be used.
