Another eight children and teenagers were rescued from the territories temporarily occupied by Russia within the framework of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative of the President of Ukraine.
This was announced by the head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak.
Among those rescued are an 11-year-old boy who did not leave his house for four years so that the occupiers would not find him, an 18-year-old boy who was threatened with deportation and forced conscription by collaborators, as well as a 17- and 15-year-old brother and sister who were humiliated at school because of the Ukrainian language.
A 21-year-old boy who was tortured after a search, demanding a confession about cooperation with the Ukrainian military, was also freed.
Now all the children are safe — they are undergoing medical and psychological rehabilitation, they are processing documents and returning to a peaceful life.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that within a week or two, a list of 339 children abducted by Russia would be prepared.
Recently, Ukraine returned eight more children and teenagers from the territories temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation as part of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative.
