Currently, all children and their families are safe and receiving the necessary assistance in our centers,” Kuleba said. In total, according to him, it was possible to return 538 children.

Some of the stories of the survivors were revealed. Vitalina, who was in her last trimester of pregnancy, could not leave her village when the invaders came. She had to issue Russian documents for the child so that she would not be taken away. Marichka was forced to attend a Russian school and learn propaganda poems, and at the age of 18 she was given a choice: get Russian citizenship or go to Ukraine on foot. Kirill was served with a summons to the army when he was only 17 years old, declaring that he was now a citizen of the Russian Federation.

Despite all the threats, thanks to the efforts of volunteers, the families were able to return their children to the territory controlled by Ukraine.
