“As of today, the Ukrainian National Boxing team has not received any confirmation of admission to the Boxing World Cup, which will take place in Liverpool. Moreover, there is a high probability that the participation of our team may not occur at all due to the lack of membership of Ukraine within the international organization World Boxing.
Intensive work is currently being held to resolve this issue and to ensure the opportunity to participate in Ukrainian athletes in competitions. The regional boxing federations, who are indifferent to the future Ukrainian sports, officially addressed the World Boxing President Boris Van der Warst and the legends of the world boxing Volodymyr Klitschko with a request to support the Ukrainian team and, despite the lack of membership, to give our national team the right. To which they have answered a very difficult situation with this issue in connection with the violation of the charter of the organization with the admission of teams from countries that do not have membership in WB. But they promised to consider our request in a short time.
We consider it unacceptable that athletes who are preparing for the main competitions of the year in this situation suffer from this situation. Unfortunately, the unprofessional actions and irresponsibility of the current management of the Boxing Federation of Ukraine led to a critical situation: statements about the formed teams of teams, open visas and purchased tickets were publicly voiced, but there is still no real confirmation of the admission to the World Cup.
Empty promises cannot replace responsible work. The lack of proper leadership leads to the fact that Ukrainian athletes run the risk of losing the opportunity to present the country on the world stage, ”the boiler said.
The tournament this year will be held in Liverpool from September 4 to September 14.
