Power Ukraine is ready to send to Moldova, namely in the unrecognized Transnistria, coal. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this, following the meeting with Moldova President Maya Sandu, who is visiting Kiev, reports Radio Liberty correspondent.

“We have coal that we can really supply to Moldova, we can give in Tiraspol. If they really want people to get electricity. They can say that this coal is not technically suitable. But they use, by the way, Ukrainian coal, you know, anthracite, which was stolen by Russia after the occupation of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, part of our region. It was there that they took and simply stole our coal and some of this coal was sent to Tiraspol, ”Zelensky said.

To ensure the work of Moldovan dresses on Ukrainian coal in Moldova, Ukrainian specialists can also be sent separately, the President said.

“What I said about the price. Look, they have a volume of 220 megawatts – the whole Tiraspol region. This is what they need. And the station itself, if our people go there, she (station – ed.) It will be able to issue 2 gigattes. That is, ten times more. More than needed. If we give them coal we are ready to speak at a low price, or even for free, if we can get coal instead. What is right, ”the Ukrainian President emphasized.

Earlier, since January 1, the Russian Gazprom unilaterally stopped supplying natural gas to the Transnistrian region. It happened after Ukraine stopped the transit of Russian gas in its territory. To compensate for the deficit, Chisinau now buys electricity in Romania.

The separatist authorities in Tiraspol states that “the Transnistrian region has encountered the humanitarian crisis after the termination of Russian deliveries, and that they will have enough gas reserves by the end of January. To reduce the load on the mains, the administration resorts to fan shutdowns for several hours a day. ”
