There are already statements that “Russia’s concessions will save life.” But the reality in the occupied territories proves the opposite: the lack of basic rights – to language, faith, nationality and identity. People under occupation are tortured, raped, and children are being stolen and deported in the Russian Federation.
Propaganda will spread the usual narratives: “Better a bad peace than a good war,” “better terrible ending than horror without end.” Here is a memory that historically concessions to the Kremlin have never made peace – only new waves of violence and repression. The agreement without any pressure on Putin is an already pierced path to genocide.
What to expect European leaders? European countries can also become pressure. The Kremlin and Washington can speculate on the internal problems of the EU, playing “fatigue from war.”

What to expect from Donald Trump? Currently, it seems that the President’s phrase, said on Friday, “there is no agreement until it is concluded” – in fact it means that there will be no agreement until Ukraine agrees to what Trump has already agreed with Putin in Alaska.
The eve of Zelensky, on Sunday, August 17, Trump extended a post in Truth Social with the call: “Ukraine should be ready to lose part of the territory in favor of Russia, otherwise the longer the war will last – the more land it will lose.”
Earlier, during a press approach to Alaska, Putin said they had reached some arrangements with Trump. In the same evening, the US President confirmed in an interview for Fox News with Sean Genniti that they “agreed a lot” and added “I think we are close enough to the agreement. Now Ukraine has to agree.” And to the question that Trump would advise Zelensky now, he said “the conclusion of the agreement. You must conclude an agreement” and added that Russia said “it is a very powerful force, and they (Ukrainians) are not.”
However, it is worth remembering that Trump is known for his tactics “Push and Pull”. After sharp pressure, he often goes to praise and public support. Also, he does not tend to maintain the weak side or loses. It is important for Ukrainian diplomacy these days to withstand pressure and convince it that Ukraine is a “powerful force”, and Russia is sure to lose this war. In the end, despite the statements about the Kremlin’s might, the Russians have been running this war for 12 years, and have never come closer to win.
Call things by their names Currently, Trump’s supporters call Alaska a “breakthrough” with a “10 out of 10”. But it is necessary to evaluate the situation soberly: none of the two pre -stated Trump goals – trilateral negotiations and immediate ceasefire – has not been achieved at this time.
