On the eve of Christmas, Ukraine managed to transfer to Russia 1,500 packages with warm clothes and other necessary things, as well as letters for prisoners of war, said the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets

The exchange of parcels took place on the territory of Belarus with the assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Lubinets noted that in Belarus he met with the Russian Commissioner for Human Rights Tetyana Moskalkova.

“Lists of prisoners of war were handed over, issues of their verification were discussed, as well as lists of illegally imprisoned civilians,” the human rights commissioner wrote.

According to Lubinets, as of November 2024, since the start of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine managed to return 3,767 Ukrainians from Russian captivity, of which only 186 were civilians.

The resolution of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe states that as of September 18, 2024, 65,956 Ukrainian servicemen and civilians are considered missing or captured.
