Ukraine and the US have entered into a large-scale cooperation agreement in the field of subsoil, which, according to Prime Minister Denis Shmigal, opens a new era of strategic partnership between Kiev and Washington.
The document was signed on the night of May 1, and it has already received the status of “historical achievement” for our country.
Schmigal stressed that this agreement will not only allow the Ukrainian sky to protect the Ukrainian air defense systems better, but will also become a foundation for the country’s long -term economic development.
Signing an agreement with one of the most powerful economies of the world is, according to the Prime Minister, the best security guarantee for Ukraine. It envisages the creation of a joint investment fund that will accumulate profits from the use of Ukrainian natural resources.
These funds will be aimed at rebuilding the country and modernizing its infrastructure. It is especially important that the agreement covers 57 types of minerals, and its action will last until both parties decide to stop it.
Shmigal stressed that the next step is the ratification of the document by the Verkhovna Rada, which is planned to be held on May 8. After that, Ukraine will start signing technical agreements that will allow partnerships in practice.
It is these additional documents that will provide specific tools for cooperation and will allow you to attract modern American weapons to strengthen the state’s defense capability.
The agreement is also a clear signal of the Kremlin: the United States stays with Ukraine and ready to support it in the fight against Russian aggression.
According to the prime minister, cooperation with American partners is not only about the present, but also about the future where a strong economy and prosperity will be the best security for Ukrainians.
From now on, Ukraine has a chance not only to complete the war, but also to reach a fair peace, which opens the way to large -scale renewal and EU membership.
It should be reminded that the agreement between Ukraine and the United States on Mineral Cooperation on May 1, 2025 does not violate the legislation of the European Union and will not interfere with the European integration aspirations of Ukraine.
We also reported that the Government had submitted an agreement between Ukraine and the United States to the Verkhovna Rada on the establishment of an investment fund of reconstruction, which was signed several days ago. Voting can take place on May 8.
