“Today, another 25 of our people are returning home to Ukraine. These are our military and civilians. Among them are the defenders of Mariupol and Azovstal, as well as our Kharkiv Oblast, Donetsk Oblast, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson Oblast. The boys have serious injuries and illnesses. Each of them will receive all the necessary medical assistance,” the message of the head of state reads.
Zelensky added that the exchange took place with the assistance of the United Arab Emirates.
The exchange according to the “25 for 25” formula was also confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Russian servicemen are currently on the territory of Belarus. They will be delivered to Russia for treatment and rehabilitation in military medical institutions, the agency said.
The previous exchange took place on December 30, 2024. At that time, 189 citizens returned to Ukraine, including civilian prisoners.
