The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UKKA), which represents more than 2 million Americans of Ukrainian descent, is concerned that it “puts pressure on Ukraine in order to force it to agree to the ceasefire, which depends on whether Russia will agree to it”, according to the committee on March 12.

“Russia is not interested in peace – it seeks only complete destruction of Ukraine. Any intended ceasefire should include reliable and security guarantees for Ukraine. History has repeatedly showed that Russia does not respect any treaty and does not comply with any arrangements that particularly clearly demonstrate its flashy violations of the Minsk agreements. Premature or impossible ceasefire will only allow Russia to regroup and continue its campaign of terror against the Ukrainian people, ”the statement stated.

The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America emphasizes that Russia should be fully responsible “for all its military crimes and genocide acts.”

“Like Americans, we believe that the United States should continue to remain a beacon of freedom and democracy … UKKA is grateful for the support that the United States gives Ukraine to Ukraine and hopes to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries,” the committee said.

The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UKCA) is a public organization that unites the Ukrainian diaspora in the United States. Founded in 1940. It is engaged in the protection of the interests of Ukrainians, the promotion of Ukrainian culture and the support of Ukraine in the international arena.

On March 11, a meeting of delegations of Ukraine and the United States took place in Saudi Arabia.

During the negotiations, Ukraine agreed with the proposal of the US side to introduce a ceasefire regime in the war with Russia for 30 days. The delegations also discussed the importance of humanitarian efforts as part of the peace process, in particular during the ceasefire regime, including the exchange of prisoners of war, the dismissal of retained civilians and the return of forced Ukrainian children.

US President Donald Trump has said that US and Russia representatives would meet for a truce discussion.

Also, US Presidential Advisor Mike Volt said that Donald Trump decided to immediately restore military and intelligence assistance to Ukraine as a result of US-Ukrainian negotiations.

The Kremlin said they were studying statements made by the meeting of Ukrainian and American delegations in Jedda.
