In the starting period, during an even game, Ukraine managed to throw the puck in the majority, realizing the very first chance. Ilya Shibinsky scored, and this is the second most goal in the tournament.
In the second 20 minutes, the opponent was already much more active, including thanks to two withdrawals, but goalkeeper Oleksandr Levshin performed well. He made 22 saves in the second period alone.
At the start of the last period, Norway tried to start more actively, but earned themselves an elimination and missed again. Danylo Kuraev distinguished himself. For him, this is the second puck in the tournament after yesterday’s goal in Kazakhstan’s overtime.
Unfortunately, it was not possible to maintain the advantage. At first, the Norwegians scored in the majority, and within a minute they scored in equal teams – 2:2. It was fortunate that in the last minutes of the main time it was possible to fight back from the minority once again.
And this is the second overtime for the national team of Ukraine. It ended in favor of the opponent as a result of a shootout after a foul by Gaponenko.
It should be said that the Ukrainian players had very little time to rest. After yesterday’s late match with extra time, the energy was probably not enough at the end of the meeting with Norway.
