Extras were detained while buying weapons for crime / UNIAN collage, SBU photoAn attempt was being made on the First Deputy Minister of Health and it was supposed to be “retribution” for the death of a woman in the hospital where he was on duty that day.This was reported by the SBU and the capital’s prosecutor’s office. At the same time, the name of the official was not mentioned there, but currently there is only one first deputy minister in the Ministry of Health – Serhiy Dubrov. The special service reported that two accomplices were detained who were going to eliminate the official in the near future.
“According to the materials of the case, the perpetrators were two residents of Kyiv region. They watched the first deputy minister for several months, studied his daily routine and movement routes. In order to eliminate the official with a pistol, they went to the shooting range for a long time and practiced shooting skills,” – noted in SBU
The suspects are a man and a woman, they were looking for a weapons seller on the black market, but at the time of handing over the money for the gun, they were detained in accordance with Art. 208 CCP employees of the SBU and the National Police.
At present, the persons involved have been notified of the suspicion under part. 1 Art. 14 and h. 1 Art. 115 of the Criminal Code (“preparation for a criminal offense”, “intentional murder”).
As the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office reported, according to the investigation, in October 2024, a woman died in one of the capital’s hospitals as a result of severe injuries received during a road accident. “The First Deputy Minister, who is an anesthesiologist, was on duty at the medical facility that day. Despite the serious injuries caused by the accident, the woman’s friends believed that the doctor was to blame for her death, so they decided to kill him,” the report said.
It is also noted that the suspects followed him, renting cars and an apartment in the residential complex where the specialist lives.
“During the searches, a weapon, ammunition, an object similar to a grenade, as well as psychotropic substances were seized from the home of the suspects. The confiscated items have been sent for expert examinations, after receiving the conclusions of which the issue of additional qualification of the suspects’ actions will be decided,” the prosecutor’s office detailed.

According to the information of T.V.O. head of the National Police, Ivan Vyhivskyi, law enforcement officers detained two men who were preparing an attack on a high-ranking official of the tax service.
The policemen were able to prevent the attack just at the moment when the suspects with prepared bats were already heading towards the entrance from which the victim was supposed to exit.
