The DBR reported the suspicion of the head of the Main Department of the State Consumer Service in Vinnytsia region and the head of the Vinnytsia district department, who were exposed to extorting a bribe for assistance in receiving official housing.
According to the investigation, the employee of the service appealed to the regional manager to provide housing in Nemirov. He, together with the head of the district department, estimated “assistance” at $ 12,000: half had to pay at the beginning of the document, the rest – after receiving the housing.
The head of the district administration was detained during the receipt of the first part of the bribe – $ 6,000. Both officials were suspected under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (receiving undue benefit). The court appointed the district manager house arrest and removed him from office.
During the searches in the apartment of the head of the regional administration found cocaine. He was additionally charged with the storage of narcotic substances (Part 1 of Article 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to these articles, officials threaten up to 10 years in prison.
