Two checkpoints on the border with Moldova were closed after the Russian strike

Russian troops have dealt another blow to critical infrastructure by attacking a bridge on the strategic highway M-15 Odesa-Reni in the area of ​​the village of Mayaki. Because of this, the work of two checkpoints on the border of Ukraine and Moldova was suspended.

This was reported by the Border Police of Moldova.

Since this road currently remains the only road connection between Odesa and the southern regions of the region (Bessarabia) after the closure of the Zatoka route, the incident caused a serious logistical crisis and a complete stoppage of traffic on an important route.

Due to the suspension of traffic on the highway, the Border Police of Moldova officially announced changes in the operation of checkpoints:

• “Palanka – Beacons-Comfortable” — the operation of the checkpoint has been completely suspended by both states.

• “Tudora – Starokozache” — transit operations are also suspended indefinitely.

• Alternative routes — those traveling to Moldova or the southern regions of Odesa are recommended to choose other checkpoints, such as “Serpneve”, “Maloyaroslavets” or “Vynogradivka”, however, it is worth considering the significant increase in the load on these directions and the poor condition of secondary roads.

A woman who was driving a civilian car at the time of the attack was killed during the attack on the bridge. Her three children are now under the care of doctors with injuries and severe stress. Authorities urge drivers not to approach this area under any circumstances, as the area remains dangerous due to the risks of repeated shelling and the need for experts to assess the damage to the bridge.

On Thursday night, Russian troops carried out another attack on Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk region, as a result of which civilians were injured and civilian infrastructure was destroyed.
