The head of the Polish government Donald Tusk said that the geopolitical future of Poland looks optimistic, but everything depends on the settlement on the front line in Ukraine. In particular, if Ukraine loses the war, the situation in Poland will radically change for the worse.

Details: Tusk noted that Poland should strategically use its key position in the region and continue to support Ukraine, as its defeat would mean a worsening of the situation on the Vistula.

According to Tusk, the geopolitical future of Poland “will look very good if Ukraine does not lose and if we manage to overcome this historical Polish-Ukrainian grudge.”

“Building strong, friendly partnership relations with sovereign Ukraine, of course, without forgetting our interests, is a great opportunity for Poland,” the Polish Prime Minister assessed.

“That’s why we should focus on helping Ukraine, because if it loses the war, the situation in Poland will radically change for the worse. Although here I am a moderate optimist. There are no objective reasons why Ukraine should lose,” he said.

Tusk also mentioned the incident on the night of September 9-10, when Russian drones violated Polish airspace. He called it a “turning point in the conflict.”

He called the decision to shoot down drones difficult. “It was not easy, because no one wants to bend the stick and inadvertently start the third world war,” he said, noting that “giving in, tolerating provocations, does not lead to anything good.”

We will remind, on the night of September 10, Russian drones in the number of about two dozen for the first time flew en masse on the territory of Poland.

After that, Ukraine and Poland agreed on the creation of a joint task force on unmanned aircraft systems.
