On Saturday, December 27, in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) at the Mohammed Abdo Arena, a large-scale Ring V boxing evening took place. The main event of the show was a fight for the title of absolute world champion, in which the Japanese star Naoya Inoue met with the Mexican challenger Alan David Picasso.
The fight lasted all 12 rounds and ended with a convincing victory of Inoue by decision of the judges. According to sources, the Japanese earned about 4 billion yen for this fight, which is equivalent to approx 26 million dollars. Previously, Inoue’s biggest fee for one fight was about $5 million.
This payment became an absolute record in the history of Japanese boxing.
