During training, the 33-year-old football player tore the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee and was forced to leave the field early. On Thursday, November 20, the Spaniard was visited by doctor Ramon Cugat to assess Christian’s condition.
Already on Friday, the football player will undergo an operation – according to preliminary data, the Portuguese will not be able to return to the squad this season and will miss at least six months.
“Girona gives Porto all its support at this difficult time and wishes him a speedy and successful recovery,” the team’s press service said on social media.
In the current season, Christian played 11 matches in which he recorded one assist. The Spaniard has recently lost competition to wingers, in particular to Ukrainian national team player Viktor Tsygankov.
